BANJA LUKA, JUNE 7 /SRNA/ - Speaker of the Republika Srpska National Assembly Nenad Stevandić said that the All-Serbian Assembly and the adoption of the Declaration on the Protection of National and Political Rights and the Shared Future of the Serbian People was a historical turning point, as it paved the way for a shared future.

One year after that event, Stevandić emphasized that the results have been significant.

He said that since then, various tricks have been used to undermine the position of the Serb people by the so-called High Representative and others, but that the Serbs, despite everything, feel stronger.

Stevandić emphasized that this is also confirmed by economic indicators related to unemployment, budget deficit, and public debt.

"Regardless of all these intense pressures, we are showing that we are resilient and unwavering," Stevandić told Glas Srpske.

Regarding the Declaration on the Protection of National and Political Rights and the Shared Future of the Serbian People, Stevandić emphasized that much has been achieved, but that the work will not stop there.

At the Parliamentary Forum of Serbia and Republika Srpska, it was emphasized that the Declaration is a strong strategic document, thanks to which cooperation between Serbia and Republika Srpska has significantly improved over the past year.

Co-chairman of the Forum, Dušan Marić, said that the results of implementing the Declaration's goals have been far weaker than he had expected at the time of its adoption.

"That is primarily the result of objective circumstances, namely, the fact that just a few months after the All-Serbian Assembly, both Serbia and Republika Srpska faced attempts to forcibly overthrow their governments. Those attempts are still ongoing," Marić, who is also a member of the Serbian National Assembly from the Serbian Progressive Party /SNS/, told Glas Srpske.

He reminded of efforts to overthrow the government in Republika Srpska through what he described as criminal and anti-Dayton actions by German citizen Christian Schmidt, who, according to Marić, falsely presents himself as the High Representative of the so-called international community.

He added that Schmidt is pursuing this agenda through criminalization, staged trials, and by issuing warrants for the President of the Republic and the Speaker of Parliament.

He says that efforts to overthrow the government in Serbia are being carried out by various groups from universities, the judiciary, and the NGO sector, groups he described as “mostly agent networks of Western intelligence services,” along with the “DOS-era opposition.”

“Given the brutality of the pressure and the scale of dismantling our two republics are being subjected to, it is hard to imagine that more could have been done,” Marić said.
