BANJA LUKA, MAY 19 /SRNA/ - Speaker of the Republika Srpska National Assembly Nenad Stevandić said on Monday evening that relations between Serbs and Russians are among the oldest friendly relations in the Balkans, and that they are not subject to historical review like some others.
Stevandić emphasized that these ties predate the current crisis and military conflicts.
"These relations have withstood the test of time, and it's especially beautiful when we attend events of cultural significance, because Serbs and Russians understand each other very well in the field of culture. Culture knows no borders," Stevandić told reporters in Banja Luka, ahead of the opening of the RTDoc International Documentary Film Festival: "The Time of Our Heroes."
The RTDoc International Documentary Film Festival: "The Time of Our Heroes" opened this evening in Banja Luka, aiming to shed light on historical truth by offering an objective and balanced perspective on past and present events.
The ceremonial opening was attended, among others, by the Minister of Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education of Republika Srpska, Željko Budimir, and the Ambassador of Russia to BiH, Igor Kalabukhov.
The RT International Festival is being held in Republika Srpska for the first time, bringing audiences a selection of the latest and most-watched films from the RTDoc production - documentaries that bear witness to truth, suffering, resistance, and heroism during the conflict in Donbas.
