STEVANDIĆ: ALL DECISIONS OF HIGH REPRESENTATIVE SHOULD BE ANNULLED

BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 5 /SRNA/ - Speaker of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska Nenad Stevandić said that the Assembly's Constitutional Affairs Committee today adopted a conclusion under which Republika Srpska will, in the coming period, insist on the annulment of all decisions by the High Representative in BiH that were not preceded by the Republic's consent.

"This also applies to decisions that enabled the legalisation and imposition of majority voting as an absolute denial of the original Dayton principles, which are based precisely on the consent of the entities and peoples, and which have been the principle of the work of the High Representative and the Constitutional Court of BiH to the detriment of the Republic," Stevandić told reporters.

He stressed that the entire Bosniak political elite had already destroyed BiH by using these levers of the High Representative and the Constitutional Court.

"The independence of Republika Srpska can only come as a consequence of their 'work', and it is not any plan of the institutions of the Republic and its political parties. So, it is clear that they are the ones who created impossible conditions and called on us to secede, even though we did not need to. We will simply wait for them to finish off this BiH by legitimising being outvoted and imposition outside the principles on which this country was established," Stevandić said.

He stated that the independence of Republika Srpska would be a consequence of the actions of the Bosniak political elite, rather than the intention of the leadership of Republika Srpska.

"We only want to say that we will preserve peace and security for all citizens. We will insist on equality and Dayton principles, and all those who have violated those principles should face the consequences," Stevandić said after a session of the Constitutional Affairs Committee of the National Assembly in Banja Luka.

He concluded that the Committee today prepared adequate responses to the Constitutional Court of BiH regarding abuses by the Bosniak political elite, including issues related to personal data protection, the Republika Srpska Law on Cemeteries, the outvoting of Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović regarding the composition of the Commission to Preserve National Monuments of BiH, and similar matters.

Stevandić said they had also prepared a response to the Constitutional Court of Republika Srpska regarding the Law on Cemeteries and amendments to the Criminal Code of Republika Srpska.

He said that the freezing of the accounts of Radio-Television of Republika Srpska /RTRS/ will not be allowed.

"Through our conclusions, we supported the continued operation of RTRS, because by removing its financial assets, its broadcasting would also be shut down, and its subsequent registration with the CRA would be prevented. This is a devious way of stripping Republika Srpska of its information capacity and thus shutting down RTRS. This represents the utmost spitefulness. We want a stable RTRS," Stevandić said.
