BROD, MARCH 26 /SRNA/ - The Zečević, Milošević, Trifunović, and Radanović families from Sijekovac near Brod were harbingers of suffering and a warning of what would follow in the coming years, the suffering of children, mothers, fathers, and the elderly, said today Serbia’s Minister of Labor, Employment, Veterans, and Social Affairs, Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski.

Stamenkovski emphasized that she came to Sijekovac to show that Serbia stands with Republika Srpska.

"I know that you love Serbia and aspire for it to be the backbone of the Serbian people," Stamenkovski said after laying wreaths in Sijekovac, where today marks 34 years since the first mass crime against the Serb population in BiH, which occurred on this day in 1992.

She stressed that Serbia wants to demonstrate that, together with Republika Srpska, it commemorates the anniversaries of the suffering of the Serb people and nurtures a culture of remembrance.

"We in Serbia also mourn all these victims and speak about them. Serbia has heard of Milja Zečević," Stamenkovski highlighted.

She also asked how many times suffering must occur for Serbs to understand the threats they face.
