PALE, OCTOBER 1 /SRNA/ - The Media System of Republika Srpska - SRNA officially begins work today from new, modern and representative premises in Pale, following a strategic decision by the Republika Srpska Government to permanently return the national news agency to its original headquarters, where it was founded, on the initiative of President Milorad Dodik.

The ceremonial opening of the new premises, in the presence of invited guests, is scheduled for 3.30 p.m. at SRNA headquarters at 24E Univerzitetska Street.

Acting SRNA Director General Tatjana Parađina said the major investment by the Republika Srpska Government, led by Prime Minister Savo Minić, represented far more than a construction project, describing it as a sign of unequivocal support for SRNA and all of its employees.

Parađina said the new working environment would provide significantly better conditions, while also placing an additional responsibility on SRNA to work even better and more responsibly for all those it exists to serve - Republika Srpska, the public and its users.

"With this decision, the leadership of Republika Srpska has demonstrated in the clearest possible way how highly it values the work, reputation and importance of our institution. Providing top-quality working premises is not merely an aesthetic improvement, but an incentive for SRNA to achieve even greater creativity, precision and maximum productivity", she said.

Parađina said that by returning SRNA to its historic headquarters and equipping the premises to the most modern international standards, the Republika Srpska leadership had created the environment the institution deserved and provided employees with first-class working conditions.

"After years away, returning home in a modern setting is direct proof that the leadership of Republika Srpska sees SRNA as a fundamental pillar of the media landscape in Srpska, while also taking into account balanced development across all parts of the Republic", Parađina stressed.

She added that the Government had, through this move and on President Dodik's initiative, made a decision to revitalize the institution by returning it to the municipality where, on April 7, 1992, the first news report of the first Serb media outlet in the then Republic of the Serb People of BiH was broadcast.

"We therefore express our gratitude to the leadership of Republika Srpska and to the members of SRNA's Supervisory Board for their continued understanding and support, as well as for the vision to make this project a priority", Parađina said.

She added that one of the next goals would be to secure more suitable premises for colleagues in Banja Luka and Bijeljina as well.

All SRNA employees, she stressed, would justify through their work and commitment the trust placed in them by the Government, the leadership of Republika Srpska, all institutions and citizens of Srpska, as well as SRNA's loyal users
