SITUATION MUCH BETTER THAN PREVIOUS TWO DAYS

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, AUGUST 23 /SRNA/ - The wildfire situation in Republika Srpska is much better this morning than in previous days, acting director of the Republika Srpska Civil Protection Administration Boris Trninić told SRNA.

"According to reports from the field as of 7:00 this morning, the situation is much better than yesterday. We are focusing on Trebinje, where firefighters have been battling a wildfire since 6:30 this morning, together with a helicopter operated by the MOI Aviation Administration," Trninić said.

He stressed that wildfires had been reported in seven municipalities, but that all of them were under control and there were no critical situations anywhere.

"The situation in Trebinje is also much better than it was over the previous two days. In the other local communities where fires have been reported, firefighters are either on the ground or on standby, and there have been no major problems since this morning," Trninić added.
