TRNINIĆ: RAIN EASED PROBLEMS CAUSED BY WILDFIRES

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, AUGUST 18 /SRNA/ - Rain has eased the situation caused by wildfires in Republika Srpska and extinguished fires in Bijeljina and the Zvornik region, acting director of the Republika Srpska Civil Protection Administration Boris Trninić told SRNA.

"However, there was no significant rainfall in Herzegovina, so the light rain has eased the situation, but the fire has not been extinguished," Trninić stressed.

He said that the fires in the Nevesinje area are still active, but they are not threatening human lives or buildings.

"Smoke can still be seen in inaccessible areas, so we remain on standby in Nevesinje," Trninić added.

According to information available to the Republika Srpska Civil Protection Administration, the situation in other local communities across Republika Srpska is under control.
