BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 8 /SRNA/ - Christians in this region face a serious problem because a literal advance of Islam is putting them in a position where they must fight for their very survival and strengthen themselves, President Milorad Dodik said.
He pointed out that Europe had received a huge number of people who are followers of Islam and that, if they gain control of key positions, they will support the Bosniaks in Sarajevo.
"They will then lie about us again. Those in Sarajevo lie out of conviction, and under such circumstances, if we do not strengthen our status, we will be lost as a community. That is what I am fighting for today," Dodik told RTRS.
He said that he and HDZ BiH leader Dragan Čović had done nothing against the Bosniaks, but simply refused to listen to them.
He said that Croats, like Serbs, are a constituent people and that their efforts have always been aimed solely at defending the principle of constituent peoples, while the Bosniaks had wanted to humiliate them.
"We believed that Croats had the right to representation at the level of BiH, and we did nothing against the Bosniaks," Dodik said.
He stressed that what was troubling was the abuse of power by Sarajevo, which wanted only to impose a policy under which we would be treated as its subjects.
"We must acknowledge that the Bosniaks have taken control of the courts and prosecutor's offices, and that this is the dominance of the wartime AID. How can you be a Serb sitting in the Prosecutor's Office and allow the President of the Republic to be prosecuted without any legal basis?" Dodik asked.
He said that the problem with Bosniak politicians was that they no longer had any arguments, as their arguments had lost force and been exhausted.
He also said that the elections had taken place in an atmosphere shaped by imposed technologies, adding that Sarajevo had expected these technologies to cause the SNSD to lose the election. He asked who would have defended RTRS had the party lost.
"We must put this right. RTRS property is protected and belongs to Republika Srpska, while the public broadcaster is accountable to the National Assembly," Dodik said.
He also stressed that he would never give up the good cooperation he had enjoyed with former Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, which had benefited both Serbia and Republika Srpska.
"I respect the elections in Serbia and have always respected them. I will always respect the will of the people," Dodik said, adding that cooperation between Republika Srpska and Serbia would begin as soon as the new government was formally established.
He also pointed out that the position of the Serb people in the United States had changed significantly for the better, and said he believed these gains would be preserved.
