SAMARDŽIJA: CVIJANOVIĆ'S U.S. VISIT HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL, POSSIBLE MEETING WITH TRUMP BY END OF YEAR

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, SEPTEMBER 24 /SRNA/ – BiH's ambassador to Azerbaijan Željko Samardžija told SRNA that the visit of the Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović to the United States had been highly successful and that Republika Srpska diplomacy was one step away from a bilateral meeting with US President Donald Trump.

He said Cvijanović's visit to Washington and New York was confirmation of what he described as the successful foreign policy initiated by President Milorad Dodik with the Trump administration.

"I think this is only one step away from a bilateral meeting with President Trump, which will probably take place by the end of the year after Cvijanović, as the member of the BiH Presidency from Republika Srpska, assumes the chairperson of the Presidency," Samardžija believes.

He added that, in his view, another sign of the visit's success was the strong reaction in political circles in Sarajevo, where parties were accusing one another of being passive and ineffective.
