BANJA LUKA, MAY 16 /SRNA/ - The Speaker of the Republika Srpska National Assembly, Nenad Stevandić, believes that the imposed amendments to the Criminal Code introduced without legitimacy by Valentin Inzko and Christian Schmidt should be repealed, adding that it is always the right time to correct an injustice.
“It is always the right time to correct things that are illogical and were introduced solely to spite someone, in this case, the Serbs,” Stevandić told SRNA.
He said that Republika Srpska is not considering using the new geopolitical situation to jeopardize anyone.
“We have no intention of taking advantage of that situation, for example, if someone were to appoint a High Representative who would be more favorable toward Serbs than toward other peoples, and then use that against others, as they did against us,” Stevandić said.
He expressed hope that representatives of the FBiH will understand as soon as possible that they should not act against Republika Srpska through the High Representative.
That way, he added, everyone would be more peaceful and mutually respectful, and no one would be waiting for an opportunity to spite the other side through a foreign official.
“I hope they will come to their senses as soon as possible. If major countries such as Russia, China, and the United States have understood that Republika Srpska is eternal, then it is only right that they understand it too and that we move toward dialogue,” Stevandić said.
