DOBOJ, MAY 17 /SRNA/ - Qualifying matches for the 2026 ITF M15 Doboj Open begin today in Doboj, featuring 44 competitors.
Serbian tennis player Dušan Obradović is the top seed of the tournament, ranked 480th on the ATP list.
The host of the tournament is the Tennis Club Doboj, whose representative, Dragan Dragičević, said this is the first of four international tournaments the club will organize this year.
He stated that, despite the poor weather conditions, the organization of the competition is progressing as scheduled. The opening ceremony is set for tomorrow at 18:30, with confirmed attendance by representatives of the Ministry of Family, Youth, and Sports of Republika Srpska.
Dragičević added that the main matches will begin on Tuesday, May 19, with 32 competitors taking part.
He thanked the City Administration of Doboj and the Ministry of Family, Youth and Sports of Republika Srpska for their support in organizing the tournament.
The ITF M15 Doboj Open 2026 has brought together competitors from more than 20 countries. The winner of the tournament, which runs until Sunday, May 24, will receive a prize of 15,000 US dollars as well as 15 ATP points.
The main sponsor of the 19th ITF M15 “Doboj Open 2026” is the City of Doboj. The tournament supervisor is Vladimir Erg.
The Doboj ITF M15 Futures is on the list of events of special importance for Republika Srpska, and in Doboj, it is, along with the International Handball Tournament of TV Champions, one of the most significant annual sporting events.
Last year’s singles winner of the tournament was Doboj native Andrej Nedić, while the doubles title was won by the pair Andrej Nedić and Vladan Tadić from Banja Luka.
