BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 16 /SRNA/ – The President of the Presidency of the Veterans’ Organization of Republika Srpska /BORS/ Milovan Gagić assessed this evening that there has been visible progress in improving the status of veterans’ categories in Srpska, noting that around BAM 100 million more has been secured from the republican budget for veterans’ allocations in the coming year.
Gagić emphasized that an agreement has also been reached with the Government for the employment of 500 children of fallen soldiers in the coming year, and that demobilized soldiers, upon turning 65 and if they have no income, will receive a veterans’ allowance of BAM 9 for each month spent in combat zones.
“I believe the trend of improving the status of veterans’ categories will continue. We have an increase of 1.5 BAM million for spa treatment, which is very important,” Gagić said in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska while speaking about the Draft Budget of Srpska for the coming year.
He stressed that BORS has adopted conclusions stating that there must be no transfer of competencies from Republika Srpska to the BiH level.
“We will no longer allow anyone, for reasons known only to them, to transfer competencies from Srpska to the BiH level. This also applies to the property of Republika Srpska,” Gagić said.
