NEW SERIES ABOUT THE BANSKI DVOR AND GOSPODSKA STREET ON THE "SRpska NAtional" PORTAL FROM TOMORROW

BANJA LUKA, JUNE 1 /SRNA/ - The "Srpska NAtional" portal will tomorrow begin broadcasting texts as a part of a serial about famous places in Banja Luka, such as Banski Dvor /Ban's Palace/ and Gospodska Street.

The series brings the story of the Banski Dvor building, one of the trademarks of Banja Luka, which for both the local population and tourists is a place that intrigues and arouses curiosity to discover what is hidden behind its walls.

The Banski Dvor is a place where the bans of the former Vrbas Banate /1929-1941/, Svetislav Milosavljević, Dragoslav Đorđević, and Bogoljub Kujundžić, worked and lived, and most recently it was home to the Ban Todor Lazarević's family, whose descendants still live in Banja Luka today.

Nadežda Lazarević-Kovačević, the only granddaughter of Ban Todor Lazarević, tells SRNA about this building and this part of Banja Luka's history.

The series completes the picture of the former Banja Luka and the texts about Gospodska Street, which began to flourish, according to factographers, at the end of the 19th century under Austro-Hungarian rule, when it became a symbol of elegance and prestige.

During its golden years, the street was home not only to wealthy merchants but also to romantic love stories that lurked in the shadows of its alleys. The series, prepared by journalist Dubravka Gajić and translated into English by Jovica Pejčić, can be read starting tomorrow on SRNA's English-language portal srpskanational.com.
