BANJA LUKA, FEBRUARY 25 /SRNA/ - The Ministry of Economy and Entrepreneurship of Republika Srpska will support the expansion of industrial complexes such as the Banja Luka–based SHP Celex, which is one of the largest producers of hygiene paper in BiH and the largest exporter, said the line minister Radenko Bubić.
Bubić noted that SHP Celex has inherited the tradition of the former Banja Luka industrial giant Celex, which clearly demonstrates how experience, knowledge, perseverance, and investment can preserve an industrial branch and significantly advance it as well.
After talks with the management of this company, the minister said that one of the meeting’s topics was for the ministry to accommodate SHP Celex’s requests to improve production and expand capacity.
"We also discussed a project that could have a positive impact on air quality," Bubić told reporters in Banja Luka.
Mario Blažević, Director of SHP Celex, said they discussed new incentives being prepared by the Ministry, issues related to goods transportation, and upgrading the company’s processing operations to a level that would allow all semi-finished products to be converted into finished goods.
Blažević added that the current challenges in transport have not affected the company’s operations, as it has warehouses in several other countries and markets more than 70 percent of its production in the European Union.
He noted that SHP Celex employs 320 workers and achieves an annual output of 40,000 tons of semi-finished products, with around 22,000 tons being processed into finished products.
