KOZARSKA DUBICA, AUGUST 18 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić says at the Ojkača Evening event at Moštanica Monastery outside Kozarska Dubica that Serbs are a people who has been singing both when dying and celebrating, and who will always sing, adding that this is part of nation's identity.
"As the president is the patron of this event, tonight I will, together with Municipal Mayor Igor Savković, initiate that this become an event of significance for the entire Republika Srpska and that we raise it to an even higher level, not only so that more people attend, but so that it is better and more beautiful in every sense of the word," Minić told those gathered.
Minić said that he was greatly honoured to be there that evening.
"I come from an area where a different style and different music are listened to, but it is wonderful to listen to this. Unfortunately, I became more familiar with this song during wartime periods, as we always listened to it as the genuine, masculine, mountain folk song, or, if you will, a victorious one," Minić added.
He thanked everyone attending the event in the yard of Moštanica Monastery who were not ashamed to show and say who they are and what they are, what they love, and that they love their identity, their songs and Republika Srpska.
"See you in the years to come, accompanied by the beautiful songs we will hear tonight," Minić said.
The Ojkača Evening competitive festival is being held in the yard of Moštanica Monastery near Kozarska Dubica, attended by Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić and President Milorad Dodik.
