PALE, JUNE 19 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić stated that the Government of Republika Srpska is committed to providing the Ministry of the Interior with the best possible working conditions, stressing that the new building of the Istočno Sarajevo Police Administration is proof of that commitment.

"The Police of Republika Srpska are a guarantor not only of the safety of people and property, but also of security in this region," Minić said at a ceremony in Pale marking the opening of the new Istočno Sarajevo Police Administration building.

According to Minić, the Government of Republika Srpska wants every police officer to feel valued, as they are expected to protect the citizens.

"It is not only about this building. Alongside this project, many activities are being carried out within the Ministry of the Interior regarding its facilities. The final phase of procurement is underway for passenger vehicles, as well as equipment for our police force and the Gendarmerie," Minić said.

He added that the residents of Pale and the city of Istočno Sarajevo deserve such a facility.

Minić expressed satisfaction that more such buildings will be constructed across Republika Srpska.

"It is a matter of pride for Republika Srpska to demonstrate that we possess not only the commitment, but also the capacity, to build facilities like this throughout Republika Srpska. These buildings reflect everything we truly want Republika Srpska to be – a peaceful and pleasant place to live," Minić said.

In addition to the leadership of Republika Srpska and members of the Istočno Sarajevo Police Administration, the opening ceremony for the new facility, worth BAM 11.537, was attended by Istočno Sarajevo Mayor Ljubiša Ćosić, mayors of the municipalities comprising the city, members of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, representatives of the Serb people in the joint institutions, and numerous citizens.

The new facility, covering 5,123 square metres, will also house the Pale Police Station, the Traffic Police Station, the Pale Gendarmerie Unit, and an office for the issuance of personal identification documents.

The Istočno Sarajevo Police Administration has jurisdiction over the municipalities of Pale, Sokolac, Istočni Stari Grad, Istočna Ilidža, Istočno Novo Sarajevo, Rogatica, Trnovo, and Han Pijesak.
