ŠAMAC, JUNE 30 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić said that the move by the Serb member of the Presidency of BiH, Željka Cvijanović, to use a veto against the unconstitutional appointment of members of the Commission to Preserve National Monuments of BiH was correct, as this is classic lawlessness and a breakdown of all norms.
"How brutal this is is shown by the fact that all political parties, including the opposition, have already stated that they will support Cvijanović’s veto," Minić told reporters in Šamac.
He said that the vital interests of Republika Srpska must not be jeopardized.
"We are living in an environment where we must defend the institutions of Republika Srpska and understand that there is a continuous attack on it, that this has become a method and model of operation, and that we should stop being surprised," Minić stressed.
He emphasized that Republika Srpska will always have a real and adequate response to every attack.
"Has anyone mentioned that the Federation of BiH and BiH have not fulfilled the conditions for Moneyval? That is classic financing of terrorism. Has anyone said a word? What are we supposed to do now, say that they are a terrorist entity? We are not going to deal with that; we just want to work," Minić concluded.
The Serb member of the Presidency of BiH, Željka Cvijanović, vetoed the decision on the appointment of members of the Commission to Preserve National Monuments of BiH, which she declared destructive to the vital national interest of Republika Srpska after it was adopted at a Presidency session without a quorum.
She emphasized that the National Assembly of Republika Srpska will have the final say on this decision, and said that the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Denis Bećirović, who proposed the decision, acted unlawfully, and that constitutional and procedural rules were repeatedly violated during the Presidency session.
