MINIĆ AND GOLUBOVIĆ PRESENT FREE TEXTBOOKS AT "STANKO RAKITA" PRIMARY SCHOOL

BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 11 /SRNA/ - Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Savo Minić and Minister of Education and Culture of Srpska Borivoje Golubović presented free textbooks to students of the "Stanko Rakita" Primary School in the Banja Luka neighborhood of Vrbanja.

Free textbooks have been provided for more than 80,000 primary school students in Republika Srpska as part of a BAM 16 million program, of which the Government of Srpska is allocating BAM 12 million, and municipalities and cities BAM 4 million.

The participation of local communities depends on their status, meaning cities participate with 30 percent and the Government with 70 percent, while for municipalities the ratio is 20 to 80 percent.

Extremely underdeveloped municipalities are exempt from participating in the financing, so the Government of Republika Srpska fully provides free textbooks for students from those local communities.
