MINIĆ AND CVIJANOVIĆ CONFIRMED AS CANDIDATES

BANJA LUKA, JULY 2 /SRNA/ – Savo Minić and Željka Cvijanović were officially confirmed today as the SNSD candidates for the positions of Republika Srpska president and the Serb BiH Presidency member at a session of the party's Presidency.

SNSD Leader Milorad Dodik said that support for these candidates had previously been agreed upon with the party's coalition partners.

"We assessed that they were our best choices. We adhered to good practice and took into account the views of our people in the field," Dodik stated at a press conference following the session of the SNSD Presidency.

Dodik said that the upcoming elections are being held under the circumstance that he is barred from running, which is absurd in light of democracy and human rights the EU is promoting, which do not exist in BiH.

Dodik added that the remaining candidate lists for the general elections had also been finalized.

"Our party has worked very diligently and is fully united," Dodik said.
