MEMORIAL SERVICE HELD FOR VICTIMS OF USTASHA CRIMES

KOZARSKA DUBICA, APRIL 27 /SRNA/ - A memorial service was held at the plateau next to the Topole burial field in the Donja Gradina Memorial Area near Kozarska Dubica in remembrance of the victims of the Ustasha crime – the genocide committed by the NDH, for half a million Serbs, 40,000 Roma, and 33,000 Jews killed in the Jasenovac concentration camp system.

Thousands of citizens, students, guests, and the highest officials of Republika Srpska and Serbia attended the prayer part of today's commemorative gathering in Donja Gradina.

The memorial service was attended by the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, the Serbian member and Chairwoman of the Presidency of BiH, Željka Cvijanović, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Srpska, Nenad Stevandić, the Speaker of the Serbian Parliament, Ana Brnabić, and the Prime Minister of Srpska, Radovan Višković.

The religious ceremony included a prayer and a commemoration for the Serbian, Jewish, and Roma victims of the Ustasha crime – the genocide in the Jasenovac and Donja Gradina concentration camps.

Afterward, the anthems of Republika Srpska and Serbia were played.

Following the memorial service, speeches by officials will take place.

The commemoration is being followed by numerous media crews from Republika Srpska, BiH, Serbia, and Russia.
