KOŠARAC: TALKS UNDERWAY ON RUSSIAN INVESTMENTS IN ORAO

BIJELJINA, OCTOBER 31 /SRNA/ - Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers Staša Košarac said that talks were underway on investment by the Russian Federation in the defense industry company Orao.

"Just as we worked in previous years to establish links with Serbia, thanks to President Milorad Dodik and his policies, in the coming days we will also hold talks with Russian investors," Košarac said on the occasion of the 82nd anniversary of Orao's operations.

He emphasized that the most recent meeting between President Dodik and Russian President Vladimir Putin was aimed at achieving this goal.

Košarac stressed that Orao had been a factor of stability for Serb Sarajevo during the most difficult times of the war, and that its workers had risen to every patriotic, professional, and combat-related challenge.

"You believed in Republika Srpska, stayed in Republika Srpska and made your home here in Bijeljina. We must repay our debt to you because you never gave up on Republika Srpska," Košarac said, emphasizing that Republika Srpska is a pledge of the Serb people.

The defense industry company Orao marked 82 years of operations in Bijeljina last night. At the celebration, company director Marko Mrkajić presented Košarac with an aviation dagger as a symbol of professional dignity and honor.
