KOJIĆ: SHAMEFUL VERDICT AGAINST THAÇI

SREBRENICA, SEPTEMBER 16 /SRNA/ - The shameful verdict against former leader of the terrorist KLA Hashim Thaçi and his associates confirms that the Specialist Chambers in The Hague are also doing everything to justify those who killed Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, just as the ICTY did with those who committed crimes against the Serbs during the war in BiH, President of the Organization of Families of Captured and Fallen Soldiers and Missing Civilians of Srebrenica Branimir Kojić said.

Kojić said that Thaçi's sentence shows that the lives of nearly 400 murdered Serbs are "worth" only 25 years, and asked why the 2004 pogrom was not included in the indictment and why Serbian killers are being tried selectively, just as in the case of Naser Orić.

"What is happening in Kosovo and Metohija is the same as what is happening in BiH: Serbs are being tried before the Priština court, just as they are tried in Sarajevo's dungeons, following the practice of the Hague Tribunal, where Serbs are handed extremely harsh sentences, while everyone else who killed Serbs is protected," Kojić said.

He stressed that the situation for Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija is becoming more difficult by the day, something he can also personally testify to, adding that it is evident that the self-proclaimed Kosovo is being turned into a state modelled on BiH.

According to Kojić, such a structure is unsustainable, just as BiH is unsustainable, particularly with a judiciary such as this.

"Today's verdict is proof that Serb victims will never see justice and that the only court that will prove that Serbs are the greatest victims of the wars in the territory of the former Yugoslavia will be the court of history," Kojić said.

A court in The Hague today sentenced four leaders of the terrorist KLA to a total of 81 years in prison. Thaçi and Jakup Krasniqi were each sentenced to 25 years, Kadri Veseli to 18 years, and Rexhep Selimi to 13 years.
