BANJA LUKA, MAY 11 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska President Siniša Karan has stated today in Banja Luka that Christian Schmidt is leaving, but that the Constitutional Court, the Court of BiH, and the Prosecutor’s Office, which are not doing their job and still represent a threat, will remain.
"BiH will fall apart because of those who swear in it, namely the Constitutional Court, the Court, and the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH. They are supposed to exclusively protect Annex 4, which is why they were created," Karan told a press conference in Banja Luka.
He stressed that these judicial institutions had a chance to preserve BiH within its Dayton structure, which is the only possible form.
"The Constitutional Court of BiH was told it would only protect the Geneva and New York principles; it did not do so. For 30 years they have not done their job. They should return all the money they received, and Schmidt should be criminally prosecuted," Karan said.
According to him, there would be neither Christian Schmidt nor any high representative if the Constitutional Court of BiH, which is constitutional, had properly done its job and protected constitutionality.
"If there was justice, the Constitutional Court, the Court, and the Prosecutor's Office of BiH would annul all unconstitutional acts themselves. That is their basic duty; that is why they receive salaries. Now we are still expected to look for solutions from these unfortunate institutions. They are worse than Schmidt," Karan said.
He added that there is talk of Schmidt's departure, even though, in a formal sense, he had never properly arrived.
