HIGHER QUOTAS FOR FRUIT AND VEGETABLE EXPORTS TO RUSSIAN MARKET

LAKTAŠI, SEPTEMBER 30 /SRNA/ - President Milorad Dodik said that quotas for the export of fruit, vegetables, milk and dairy products from Srpska to the Russian Federation have been increased.

Dodik said that the Russian market is open to products from Republika Srpska, but that transit is a problem.

"We have a problem with the disruption of payment transactions caused by the West, and the West has surrounded us, creating circumstances that make development more difficult. But even under these circumstances, we have received higher export quotas, and we will inform our companies about this," Dodik said at a news conference at Mahovljani Airport after returning from Russia.

He stressed that he had also discussed with Russian President Vladimir Putin the implementation of the construction of the Russian-Serbian Orthodox Church and Orthodox Cultural Centre.

Dodik said they had received confirmation that the Russian Federation would carry out the interior decoration of the church and that there was a readiness for the highest-level Russian officials to attend the consecration ceremony of the church and center.

"Russia is part of our cultural and spiritual environment. Russia is a country and a people of a new civilization," Dodik said.

He noted that Russia is now an indispensable factor in international relations, that it has become a great power and regained its strength, as demonstrated by its more recent political, military and security history.
