BRATUNAC, JULY 4 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandić thanked Pastor Mark Burns, a spiritual adviser to U.S. President Donald Trump, for paying respect to the Serb victims and for coming to Bratunac, where the 34th anniversary of the suffering of Serbs in the Central Podrinje and Birač region was commemorated.
"Meeting with Pastor Mark Burns. Thank you for coming to the commemoration marking the 34th anniversary of the suffering of Serbs in the Central Podrinje and Birač region," Stevandić posted on X.
A memorial service was held at the Bratunac cemetery for the 3,267 Serb civilians and soldiers from the Central Podrinje and Birač region who were killed by members of Muslim forces during the recent war, after which wreaths and flowers were laid at the memorial cross.
Also attending the memorial service was Mark Burns, a spiritual advisor to the U.S. President, who had earlier taken part in the religious procession from the Church of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos to the cemetery in Bratunac.
