BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 21 /SRNA/ - The Republika Srpska Government has today adopted information on the entity's foreign trade for the January-June period, which amounted to BAM 6.55 billion, an increase of 4.18 percent compared with the same period last year.
The export-to-import ratio during the period under review stood at 66.38 percent, the highest among the countries in the region, the Government's Public Relations Bureau announced.
Goods worth BAM 3.9 billion were imported, an increase of 7.11 percent, while exports amounted to BAM 2.6 billion, up 0.06 percent.
In the first half of 2026, Republika Srpska's largest volume of trade was with European Union member states, which accounted for 59.91 percent, and CEFTA member states, which accounted for 21.44 percent.
Total foreign trade between Republika Srpska and CEFTA member states in the first half of the year amounted to BAM 1.4 billion, an increase of 5.03 percent, with imports rising by 1.24 percent and exports by 9.67 percent.
Republika Srpska's largest foreign trade partners during the same period were Serbia /17.04 percent/, Italy /13.28 percent/, Croatia /9.89 percent/, Germany /9.40 percent/, Slovenia /7.25 percent/, China /7.01 percent/ and Austria /4.76 percent/.
Foreign trade between Republika Srpska and Serbia amounted to BAM 1.1 billion, an increase of 2.12 percent compared with the same period last year.
Imports into Republika Srpska from Serbia fell by 4.78 percent, while Republika Srpska's exports to Serbia increased by 12.66 percent.
