BANJALUKA, JUNE 12 /SRNA/ – President Milorad Dodik said that US President Donald Trump has recognized that the future lies in leaders and nations that have a strong Christian identity.

Dodik, in a podcast with American journalist Lara Logan, stressed that he believes the United States did not benefit from NATO, especially in the conflict with Iran, because many European NATO members did not support it, including Spain.

He asked what the essence of NATO is if Europeans are there only when Americans “need to die for Europe,” and do not reciprocate in the same way and do not want to support certain values advocated by Trump.

Dodik supported the U.S. position that it would be dangerous for Iran to obtain an atomic bomb, because it is a country that in its state system promotes radical Islam.

“Such people could easily use nuclear weapons to deal with others, and then Samuel Huntington’s writing comes back to life – it is a clash of civilizations. It seems he was right, not Francis Fukuyama.

In any case, Americans are practical people. What is the benefit of NATO? They need American potential, money, and manpower. When Germans and Spaniards need to defend their freedoms, then it is fine,” Dodik noted.

According to him, something must be done on a civilizational level regarding the danger posed by Iran.

“I don’t know, maybe they are afraid. We must not ignore the fact that a large number of Muslims are in European countries and if those countries allow American aircraft to land during an operation against Iran, they would probably have problems with local Muslims. That is the problem, they are already afraid of Muslims today,” Dodik assessed.

Speaking about Serbs in the United States, Dodik noted that a “definitive” census of Serbs in the U.S. has never been done, but that according to estimates, more than one and a half million Serbs live in America.

Dodik said that Chicago and Illinois have the largest concentration of Serbs in the U.S., but that Serbs live throughout the country, and that there is the Serbian Orthodox Church and three Orthodox dioceses gathering Orthodox Christians.

He expressed the belief that Serbs have succeeded in organizing in the U.S. and that they are united in efforts to preserve Serbian culture, identity, and unity.

“I was recently in Chicago and visited a Serbian Orthodox monastery near Chicago. These people are hardworking citizens of America. The Serbian people gave one important politician – Rod Blagojevich, who was governor of Illinois. He was convicted in a staged political farce and was forbidden to be active in politics,” Dodik said.

He stressed that several hundred thousand Serbs voted in the U.S.

“We said that it was important for the new administration to come to power, led by President Trump. We believe that out of all Serbs who had the right to vote in the U.S., about 96 percent of them actually voted for Trump.

On the other hand, Muslims here in Sarajevo organized demonstrations against Trump. They previously spoke in favor of Barack Obama, and then Kamala Harris; they proved that they are enemies of Trump’s policy and the values he stands for,” Dodik said.

According to him, Bosniaks have very close relations with Iran, which is proven by the fact that the Minister of Defense in the Council of Ministers, Zukan Helez, made arrangements with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard for the construction of a munitions factory.

“We put that under control, but we still do not know about other things they may have agreed on. On the other hand, I must say that according to our records, there were 447 members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard here during the war in BiH and that they had certain military and intelligence tasks.

And imagine an embassy that in such a small country has 47 staff members. They were allegedly humanitarian workers, and most of them commanded military units. We cannot forget that,” Dodik said.

According to him, certain officials in the U.S. at lower levels are still under the influence of the “deep state.”

“U.S. President Donald Trump did the right thing regarding Iran. Tehran supported terrorism, they sent notorious units and commanders against Serbs in BiH during the war,” Dodik stressed.

He recalled that the former supreme commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, Qasem Soleimani, as well as the leader of the terrorist group Al-Qaeda, Bin Laden, fought on the side of Muslims against Serbs during 1993 and 1994.

Speaking about relations between the EU and the U.S. and Russia, Dodik stressed that the official policy of Brussels simultaneously defends contact with Moscow and condemns Trump’s administration.

Dodik particularly pointed to the negative attitude of the EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, noting that she “cannot articulate herself enough not to say certain things,” and added that French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer are “united around anti-Trump policy.”

He noted that it remains unclear whether freedom of speech is one of the achievements of so-called free Europe, or whether it should be silenced if someone does not like that opinion.

According to him, the problems created by the former U.S. administration of Joseph Biden were the greatest for Republika Srpska and for him personally, and he expects the United States to be fair.

“I believe that Trump’s administration is fair, and if we do not manage to correct injustice now, I do not believe we will ever correct it,” Dodik warned.

He noted that European politicians are doing everything they can to undermine Trump’s efforts and are waiting for his mandate to end so they can continue their policy with a future U.S. president from the Democratic Party.

“No matter how small we are, we will stand before Trump, ask for two minutes to explain the injustice, and ask him to correct it,” Dodik said.
