BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 11 /SRNA/ – SNSD President Milorad Dodik emphasized that he fully supports the initiative of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić for the entire Western Balkans to join the EU simultaneously, an approach that, he said, creates room for realistic solutions rather than bureaucratic experiments in Brussels.
Dodik said this represents a rational, mature, and statesmanlike approach that understands the complexity of the region and the inseparable interconnectedness of all who live in it.
According to him, the Western Balkans is today the most obvious example of the failure of Brussels’ bureaucratic foreign-policy approach.
"For years we have been witnessing how non-strategic decisions and the particular interests of others create a vicious circle in which countries are not blocked because they lack the will for the EU, but because of unreasonable and often impossible demands that have nothing to do with the realities of life in this region," Dodik stated.
He stressed that there is a growing risk that the heart of Europe will be left with several ‘eternal candidates,’ and not through any fault of their own.
"That is why Vučić’s proposal represents the only approach that guarantees peace, stability, and progress for everyone together, instead of favoring certain sides and deepening divisions," Dodik added.
He emphasized that in BiH, some actors are attempting to push for the centralization of the country under the guise of European integration, to the detriment of the Serb people.
"This is neither a European nor a sustainable model, and it is important to underline that regional stability cannot be built at the expense of any people, but only through rational agreement and mutual respect," Dodik wrote on X.
He added that Vučić’s proposal goes precisely in that direction and therefore has his full support as a statesmanlike move that opens space for realistic solutions rather than bureaucratic experiments in Brussels.
