BELGRADE, OCTOBER 27 /SRNA/ – President Milorad Dodik said that neither the American nor the Brussels administration, nor Moscow, nor Belgrade, nor anyone else will determine his political career, but he himself and the people who elected him.

"I decide about that, and that’s why I have 63 percent support, while SNSD has 38 percent. We have a dominant majority in the Government and in the National Assembly, and together with our coalition partners we continue to fight for Republika Srpska," Dodik said.

He emphasized that he is the constitutional president, and that only after the case before the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg is concluded can there be any discussion about his status.

Dodik pointed out that he does not stand for something he is not, that the process is not over, that there are extraordinary legal remedies, and that this is indeed a political struggle.

"Ana Trišić-Babić is the acting president of Republika Srpska and she signs decrees, while I continue to act in accordance with the Constitution," Dodik told Euronews.

He stated that the latest special session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska does not represent a change in direction, but rather normal political dynamics and pragmatism.

Dodik noted that he is the constitutionally elected president, but that he is being pragmatic given that, through the abuse of power by the international factor, primarily the Biden administration represented by Michael Murphy and Christian Schmidt, everything in the situation has been abused, and now are attempting to forcibly push through.

"Ana Trišić-Babić is my associate, and she was appointed so that I would not find myself in a position where I have to sign documents that would again take me before the court, and lead to another conviction. I am neither naive nor foolish to let that happen so easily." Dodik said, adding that he is proud to be the elected president of Srpska.

He emphasized that he will not give up politics nor leave the political scene just because someone wants him to, but only if the people no longer choose him and his team.

Dodik stated that he maintains intensive and proper contacts with the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.

“The relations between Serbia and Srpska are at the highest level.” Dodik added.

He said he cooperates with the United States, noting that it is now a different America.

Dodik recalled that Serbs were once percieved as the embodiment of evil by the American public, but that Srpska must now build an entirely new relationship with the U.S., explaining that he is currently working with people from the new American administration to build those new relations.

He stressed that America remains one of the most important countries. “Alongside Russia, there is no solution here without America,” Dodik added.

Dodik concluded by saying that he has his own direction and goal, a well-established Republika Srpska.
