DODIK: I EXPECT EXCELLENT RELATIONS WITH MOTHER COUNTRY

BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 2 /SRNA/ – SNSD Leader Milorad Dodik says he expects Republika Srpska to maintain the closest possible relations with its mother country, Serbia, following the formation of a new government in that country.

"We respect the choice of the people of Serbia and expect to cooperate. We would like to have institutional cooperation within the framework of the Agreement on Special and Parallel Relations," Dodik said, following the Student List’s victory in the recent elections in Serbia.

He dismissed certain daily political and media speculation about relations between Republika Srpska and Serbia, saying that it had no basis in reality.

Speaking at a press conference following a session of the SNSD Presidency, Dodik said that cooperation with the new Serbian government would be just as good as it had been with the government headed by Aleksandar Vučić, who had provided considerable assistance to Republika Srpska.

"We will keep cooperating with the authorities in Serbia, just as we have done before," Dodik said.
