BANJA LUKA, JULY 29 /SRNA/ - President Milorad Dodik, following a strong earthquake in the Kumamoto region, expressed his deep condolences to the families of those killed and solidarity with the injured, rescue services, and all people affected by this disaster in Japan.

"Banja Luka and Republika Srpska feel this tragedy personally - engineers and technology from Kumamoto worked in our 'Incel', leaving behind knowledge, friendships, and bridges of cooperation that we appreciate. Because of this connection, the pain is deeper, and our support is sincere," Dodik wrote on the X social network.

On behalf of Republika Srpska, Dodik sent words of respect and encouragement to the people of Japan.

"Know that our thoughts are with all the people affected by this disaster," Dodik said.

At least 13 people were killed in a 7.1 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale in southern Japan, Reuters reported.

The earthquake occurred yesterday, followed by a slightly weaker aftershock. The search and rescue mission has not yet been completed.
