BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 4 /SRNA/ - The Serb member of the BiH Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, said that Republika Srpska and Serbia are today marking the Day of Remembrance for Serbs killed and expelled during the criminal Operation Storm, and are jointly remembering the 2,000 innocent victims and more than 200,000 compatriots expelled from their ancestral homes during the largest ethnic cleansing operation in Europe after the Second World War.

"May eternal remembrance be granted to the innocent victims, and may we all bear the duty never to forget them," Cvijanović wrote on X.

The central commemoration of the Day of Remembrance for all Serbs killed and expelled during the Croatian-Muslim pogrom against Serbs from the Republic of Serbian Krajina and Republika Srpska in 1995 will be held in Mrkonjić Grad this evening. The commemoration is being organised by the Committees for Preserving the Tradition of Liberation Wars of the governments of Republika Srpska and Serbia.

A Day of Mourning is being observed in Republika Srpska to mark the 31st anniversary of the suffering of Serbs during the Croatian military-police Operation Storm, in which more than 1,904 Serbs were killed and more than 220,000 were expelled from the regions of Banija, Lika, Kordun and northern Dalmatia.
