CVIJANOVIĆ: SRPSKA OPPOSED TO IMPOSITION IN BiH, BUT REMAINS COMMITTED TO DIALOGUE

NEW YORK, SEPTEMBER 22 /SRNA/ - Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović said in New York that stability in BiH cannot be built through imposition or by bypassing the democratic will of its constituent peoples, stressing that Republika Srpska will remain committed to dialogue and to preserving peace and stability.

Speaking at the annual Concordia Summit, Cvijanović said that stability in BiH can be based only on domestic dialogue and full respect for the constitutional position of the three constituent peoples and two entities.

“Republika Srpska believes that BiH does not need more foreign tutelage, but more internal dialogue. It does not need political imposition, but economic cooperation, investment and development,” Cvijanović stressed.

She said that Republika Srpska would remain committed to dialogue, preserving peace and stability, and strengthening relations with all those willing to cooperate based on mutual respect.

Cvijanović spoke about the current challenges and the need to reaffirm democracy in BiH.

Sara Rogers and Jacob Helberg of the US State Department, Honduran President Nasry Asfura, President of the Dominican Republic Luis Abinader, and Maltese Prime Minister Robert Abela are among the participants at the annual Concordia Summit.

The summit brings together prominent business, government, and nonprofit leaders from around the world to strengthen dialogue and facilitate effective partnerships aimed at making a positive social impact.
