BANJA LUKA, MARCH 31 /SRNA/ – SNSD Deputy Leader Željka Cvijanović stated that progress in the international activities undertaken by the party’s team is more than evident, emphasizing that strong bridges of cooperation have been built with all countries that take a realistic approach to BiH.
"Outstanding issues should be resolved through dialogue and good-neighbourly relations. SNSD is committed to preserving and improving relations with traditional partners. We have activities with countries that have a realistic approach to BiH, with which we have built strong bridges of cooperation," Cvijanović said at a press conference in Banja Luka after the session of the SNSD Presidency.
She stressed that SNSD is satisfied with the balanced approach of the new U.S. administration toward BiH.
"They are doing this with regard to the three constituent peoples and the two entities. They have increased interest in economic cooperation and the arrival of their companies in BiH. We expect the EU to take a realistic and rational approach to BiH and to support coordination within the country in order for the progress toward the EU to become visible," Cvijanović said.
She reiterated that official Sarajevo wants to centralize BoH, while the EU has shown weakness by accommodating such demands.
"We want the competencies in BiH and the principle of coordination to be respected, and for everything to return to constitutional frameworks, which have been undermined by Christian Schmidt’s interventions. By doing so, all the principles of the rule of law and constitutionality have been devalued. It is unacceptable for Schmidt to interfere in the electoral process or for a foreigner to restrict freedom of speech," Cvijanović warned.
She added that SNSD remains committed to improving relations with those who understand the situation in BiH and will try to build relations with those with whom they have not been satisfactory so far.
"We do not support any activities that would disrupt relations and cooperation in the region. It is certain that there must be no stoppages, harassment, or anything similar involving any foreign citizen," Cvijanović said.
