CVIJANOVIĆ: CRIME AGAINST JNA MEMBERS - CRIME AGAINST PEACE AND PROOF OF WHO WANTED WAR

EAST SARAJEVO, MAY 15 /SRNA/ - Serb Member and Chairperson of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović says that today we remember with sorrow the fallen members of the JNA /Yugoslav People's Army/ in the Tuzla convoy, who were cowardly killed by Muslim forces under the control of Alija Izetbegović during a previously agreed withdrawal.

Cvijanović emphasized to SRNA that this crime, which occurred just two weeks after a similar massacre in Dobrovoljačka Street, was another crime against peace and clear evidence of who wanted war in BiH, a war that was imposed on the Serb people.

She pointed out that, like most crimes committed against Serbs, this one has not received an appropriate judicial epilogue.

Cvijanović stated that selective justice, or more precisely injustice by both local and international courts, has seriously undermined the reconciliation process in BiH and only deepened mistrust among the constituent peoples.

"Injustice hurts, but it also further obliges us to bear witness to the truth about the suffering of the Serb people in BiH at every opportunity, never allowing the victims to fall into oblivion," Cvijanović stressed.

Today in Tuzla, the 33rd anniversary of the crime committed by Muslim forces against JNA members and the exodus of the Serb population was commemorated.

On May 15, 1992, Muslim forces attacked a JNA convoy in Tuzla, which based on a previously reached agreement was supposed to peacefully withdraw from the Tuzla barracks.

During the attack, 54 JNA soldiers were killed, 78 wounded, and 44 captured, of whom five were later killed, while the others were tortured and mistreated.
