CROSSING THE PAVLOVIĆ BRIDGE FREE OF CHARGE AS OF TODAY

BIJELJINA, SEPTEMBER 1 /SRNA/ - Crossing the Pavlović Bridge near Bijeljina, on the border with Serbia, is free of charge as of today, SRNA was told at the Popovi border crossing.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced on August 21 that the concession for the Pavlović Bridge would expire on September 1, after which the bridge would become the property of Serbia and no fees would be charged for crossing it.

"Crossing between Serbia and Republika Srpska will be free of charge for everyone," Vučić said at the time.

The concession agreement was signed in 1996 with the company “Drina River Bridge” and its owner, Slobodan Pavlović, a businessman from the village of Popovi near Bijeljina, who built the bridge.

The agreement covered the construction of the bridge, toll collection, maintenance, and ensuring the safety of the facility. Before the Pavlović Bridge was built, the Drina was crossed at that location by ferry.
