BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 3 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska Prime Minister Radovan Višković states that the Croatian criminal military operation Storm represents a modern continuation of the same idea implemented in Jasenovac, where genocide was committed, noting that Serbs today are fighting for Republika Srpska in order to avoid the same fate as their compatriots from Krajina.
Višković stressed the Storm did not liberate Croatia, as is claimed in that country, but rather brought shame, which will forever remain on the conscience of those who celebrate “the Serb issue solution” accompanied by Ustaša slogans.
He points out that three decades have passed since this mass war crime without accountability: nearly 2,000 killed, over 220,000 expelled, completely altering demographic picture of Croatia, where Serbs have been reduced to a statistical error.
Višković noted that even 30 years later, almost no one has been held accountable for the ethnic cleansing and crimes against Serbs, descendants of Jasenovac victims, committed during Operation Storm despite overwhelming evidence. He questioned whether this means that a crime without punishment is not considered a crime.
As he emphasized, this was the largest exodus of the Serb people, and at the same time, the largest displacement in today’s Europe since World War II, reads a statement from the Government’s Public Relations Bureau.
Višković noted that Croatia is celebrating the beginning of Operation Storm as a victory, while the Serb people is marking it as a day of mourning, grief, and suffering.
He underlined that today, the Serb people is fighting for Republika Srpska because, based on the experience of Serbs from Krajina, they know all too well what fate awaits them if they allow it to be lost.
