ČOVIĆ: IMPORTANT TO CONSTITUTE NEW BiH PRESIDENCY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 12 /SRNA/ - President of HDZ BiH Dragan Čović said it was important to constitute the newly elected BiH Presidency as soon as possible so that it could address issues concerning the diplomatic network, whose current mandate has expired, as well as the Central Bank of BiH.

"We want the BiH Presidency to be constituted as soon as possible and the office of the Croat member of the BiH Presidency to become operational, because we have not been represented in that institution for eight years," Čović said at a press conference in Banja Luka following a meeting between delegations of SNSD and HDZ BiH.

He said he was extending his hand and calling on the third partner - a representative of the third constituent people - to find common solutions for establishing the intermediate level of government, as well as for the level of BiH.

"We have an interesting period ahead of us, and I hope we will understand one another," Čović said.

The SNSD delegation at the meeting included SNSD Vice-President Željka Cvijanović, Secretary-General Srđan Amidžić, spokesperson Radovan Kovačević, and party officials Ana Trišić-Babić and Željko Budimir.

The HDZ BiH delegation included the party’s Deputy President Borjana Krišto, as well as Darijana Filipović, who received the highest number of votes among HDZ BiH candidates for the Croat member of the BiH Presidency in the general election.
