BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 8 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandić emphasized during a meeting with the newly appointed Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH Rick Holtzapple that the Republika Srpska institutions will continue to consistently advocate for the respect and preservation of the Dayton Peace Agreement and its core principles, according to which decisions in BiH are made by consensus of the three constituent peoples and two entities.
Stevandić informed Holtzapple of the Republika Srpska institutions' positions, stressing that constitutional mechanisms in BiH are often misused to the detriment of Republika Srpska.
The Banja Luka meeting focused on the activities and priorities of the OSCE Mission in BiH, as well as the current political situation in Republika Srpska and at the state level, announces the National Assembly of Republika Srpska.
During the discussion, it was emphasized that it is important to maintain open and impartial communication with all sides in BiH, as taking unilateral positions leads to escalation, while a balanced and responsible approach contributes to maintaining stability and calming the political climate in the country, the statement said.
The meeting was also attended by the new Head of the OSCE Field Office Banja Luka, Christophe Fortier-Guay, and Milenko Buzadžija, a Parliamentary Support Officer at the OSCE Office Banja Luka.
