BUDIMIR: GLORIFICATION OF USTASHISM OR INSULTING SERB PEOPLE'S FEELING WILL NOT BE ALLOWED

BANJA LUKA, MARCH 17 /SRNA/ – Acting Interior Minister of Republika Srpska Željko Budimir states that no one will be allowed to glorify Ustashism, Nazism, or Fascism, nor to insult the Serb people and their feelings.

Budimir noted that the police received an official notification today regarding a gathering in Modran outside Derventa, in which the organizer requested a visit to the cemetery, laying of wreaths, a mass, and a commemorative lunch.

"Of course, under no circumstances would we allow any kind of lining up the units, especially those notorious for crimes in the Derventa region," Budimir said at the National Assembly session during the discussion of the proposed resolution banning glorification and promotion of NDH ideology.

He emphasized that no one will be allowed to insult the Serb people or their feelings, and that unverified information should not be spread.

He stressed that it is unacceptable to play with the subject of genocide against the Serb people during World War II.

Budimir stated that this topic should not be addressed in a trivial manner, but only with respect to expert knowledge.

"While I am minister, I will not allow anything that involves glorifying Ustashism, Nazism, or Fascism. We are the only people in Europe who fought against this scourge at that time," Budimir said.
