SIX YOUNG MEN FROM MONTENEGRO DETAINED AND FINED OVER SERBIAN FLAG

PRIZREN, MAY 24 /SRNA/ - Six young men from Montenegro were detained in front of the gate of the Monastery of the Holy Archangels near Prizren after attempting to take a photo with the Serbian flag on a hill above the monastery complex.

The young men were detained by the so-called Kosovo police, who released them after issuing fines.

The incident occurred during the traditional folklore festival “Ahead of Vidovdan,” held at the monastery complex, Kosovo Online reports.

The folklore festival “Ahead of Vidovdan” traditionally marks the beginning of the Vidovdan celebrations and is one of the important events for the preservation of the intangible cultural heritage of Kosovo and Metohija.

The event has been bringing together cultural and artistic societies for a quarter of a century, with the aim of preserving Serbian tradition, song, and dance.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the festival being held at the Monastery of the Holy Archangels complex.
