PATRIARCH, MARKOVIĆ AND VAJDIĆ DISCUSS STRENGTHENING TIES WITH US ADMINISTRATION BASED ON SHARED CHRISTIAN VALUES

BELGRADE, JULY 17 /SRNA/ - His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije spoke today with President of the Serbian-American Friendship Caucus Vladimir Marković and Congressman Daniel Vajdić about opportunities to advance religious diplomacy and strengthen relations with the US administration based on shared Christian values.

Special attention was devoted to the protection of Serbian spiritual, historical and cultural heritage in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as the position of the Serbian people in their centuries-old homeland.

The interlocutors highlighted the importance of preserving the holy sites of the Serbian Orthodox Church, religious freedoms and cultural heritage, as well as the need for greater international engagement in their protection, the Serbian Orthodox Church /SOC/ said in a statement.

They jointly emphasised the importance of continuing dialogue and cooperation with international partners to promote peace, preserve Christian values, and protect the spiritual and cultural identity of the Serbian people.
