NO SERBIAN NATIONALS INJURED IN FIRES ON KASSANDRA PENINSULA

BELGRADE, AUGUST 14 /SRNA/ - The Consulate General of Serbia in Thessaloniki said today that it had no information that any Serbian national had been injured in the fire that affected the area of Siviri on the Kassandra Peninsula in Halkidiki.

The consulate said that several dozen Serbian nationals had contacted them regarding the fire and the evacuation from the area, primarily seeking assistance in securing temporary accommodation and information about available shelter options.

They said that, based on recommendations from Greece's Ministry of Civil Protection, they advised Serbian nationals to register via the platform made available by the relevant authorities to record evacuees and arrange accommodation for people evacuated from the areas of Siviri and Fourka.

The Consulate urged Serbian nationals not to attempt to return to the evacuated areas on their own or use roads that have been closed or restricted until they receive official information from the Greek authorities and alerts from the 112 emergency warning system.

In the event of a new evacuation order, they are advised to follow the instructions they receive without delay.

It was noted that the Siviri–Fourka road remains closed, while access to certain affected areas is restricted.

The Consulate General of Serbia in Thessaloniki said it is continuing to monitor the situation and, in coordination with the relevant Greek authorities, providing consular assistance and information to Serbian nationals in the affected area.
