PRIŠTINA, SEPTEMBER 16 /SRNA/ - Supporters of the terrorist Kosovo Liberation Army /KLA/ today attacked the EULEX headquarters in Priština, dissatisfied with the verdict handed down to the organisation’s leaders.
In protest against the decision of the Specialist Chambers, a group of Albanians attempted to climb over the fence surrounding the EULEX headquarters.
Videos circulating on social media show police confronting them. The so-called Kosovo police are also present at the scene.
The media report that a large police presence is also deployed near the EULEX office in Kosovo Polje.
Many supporters of the terrorist KLA greeted the verdict against its leaders in tears. Those gathered in central Pristina, who watched the sentencing on a large screen, began chanting "UÇK" /Albanian for KLA/ after the verdict was announced.
Deputy Commander of the so-called Kosovo Police for the North Region Veton Elshani said that the security situation in northern Kosovo is calm and that the police have a sufficient number of officers and an operational plan to respond if necessary.
According to Elshani, there are no problems indicating an increased security risk.
The incidents occurred after Hashim Thaçi, Jakup Krasniqi, Kadri Veseli and Rexhep Selimi were sentenced to prison terms for war crimes in Kosovo and Metohija.
