BELGRADE, AUGUST 28 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Senator Bogdana Koljević told SRNA that General Ratko Mladić is the greatest Serbian hero of the second half of the 20th century and that he remains in the hearts of all Serbs as a beacon of all-Serbian unity.
Koljević states that General Mladić, in the honorable formation of Serbian generals, enters history as one of the most prominent military commanders, who defended the Serbian people in difficult times.
"Ratko Mladić does not remain in the souls and hearts of all Serbs solely as a living legend whose time never runs out, but also as a beacon and guidepost of both all-Serbian unity and Serbian identity, which is always primarily an expression of the values of truth, freedom, equality, and justice," said Koljević.
She notes that General Mladić was loved by all soldiers, because he fought honorably and heroically alongside them, but also by the entire Serbian people, both as a man and as a great military commander.
But, at the same time, she added, they also loved him as someone who, through his example, attitude, and courage, was an expression of all the best Serbian traditions, which he knew how and was able to unite like rarely anyone else.
"And that is exactly why he is so important to us even today, in these turbulent and foggy times when little can be seen clearly," highlighted Koljević.
