FICO AND ŽILINKA RECEIVE THREATENING MESSAGES

BRATISLAVA, SEPTEMBER 25 /SRNA – RIA Novosti/ - Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico and Prosecutor General Maroš Žilinka received threatening messages in which they were threatened with physical violence, the Slovak Government announced.

The statement said that threats were also made against members of the Slovak prime minister’s family, as well as the prosecutor general’s wife. In addition to physical violence, Žilinka’s family was also threatened with a bomb.

The government said that the relevant authorities are handling the case.

Fico survived an assassination attempt in May 2024, when Juraj Cintula shot him in the town of Handlová. The Slovak prime minister returned to work in July of that year after recovering in hospital
