THE HAGUE, SEPTEMBER 16 /SRNA/ - A court in The Hague has handed down a total of 81 years in prison to four leaders of the terrorist Kosovo Liberation Army /KLA/.
Hashim Thaçi was found guilty of unlawful or arbitrary arrest and detention as a war crime against at least 385 people, cruel treatment as a war crime against at least 49 people, torture as a war crime committed against at least 303 people, and murder as a war crime committed against 96 people.
He was acquitted of charges of persecution, imprisonment and other inhumane acts, torture, murder and enforced disappearances of persons, as well as crimes against humanity.
Jakup Krasniqi was sentenced to a single term of 25 years in prison for unlawful arrest and detention, cruel treatment, torture and murder as a war crime.
Kadri Veseli was sentenced to a single term of 18 years in prison for unlawful arrest and detention, cruel treatment, torture and murder.
Rexhep Selimi was sentenced to 13 years in prison.
The prosecutor had sought sentences of 45 years in prison for all three of them and Hashim Thaçi.
