VUJIČIĆ: ATTACK ON SERBS IN VOGOŠĆA ETHNICALLY MOTIVATED

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, September 2 /SRNA/ – SNSD representative in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Miroslav Vujičić believes that the attack on Serb returnees in Vogošća was ethnically motivated, but that the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior /MoI/ will classify the case as an attempted robbery and that the perpetrators will not be found.

“This is, I don’t know how many times now, that Serbs have been attacked in Sarajevo. My family home was also attacked and robbed 30 times in Ilidža. It was reported to the police every single time, but the perpetrator was never found. On one occasion, they even took all my tools, worth BAM 15,000, nothing was ever found. Such a brazen attack on two elderly men is unacceptable,” Vujičić told SRNA.

Based on his bad personal experience, Vujičić said he was certain that the Ministry of Interior would do nothing and would try to classify the incident as an attempted robbery or a robbery.

“The few Serbs who remain in Sarajevo, who can be counted on the fingers of one hand, have absolutely no protection. I have been convinced of this many times so far and, unfortunately, I have been right that Serbs have absolutely no rights and are not protected in Sarajevo on any grounds whatsoever, whether it concerns threats to their safety and the usurpation of their property, or, even worse, threats to human lives,” Vujičić stressed.

During the night between August 25 and 26, a Serb returnee, identified as A.Š. /92/, was attacked in the Sarajevo municipality of Vogošća. He was brutally beaten and later suffered a stroke.

His son, identified as B.Š. /68/, was also in the house at the time but initially heard nothing. When he woke up and saw what was happening, he chased after the burglars, who fired at him at that moment, but he was not hit.
