BELGRADE, AUGUST 3 /SRNA/ – Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vučić said today in Čipuljić, near Bugojno, the birthplace of his father, that Serbs must maintain strong national ties and remain in constant communication with one another, stressing that he vehemently rejects the notion that Serbs are a polycentric nation.

He said that this narrative is being promoted by enemies of the Serb people and by those who would like to divide the Serb nation so that everyone has their own state and their own language.

"It is a pernicious narrative invented by various agencies and embraced by those who seek to dismantle Serbia," Vučić said, stressing that they would not succeed because Serbs communicate with and understand one another, while Serbia is becoming economically stronger.

Vučić, who hosted SNSD leader Milorad Dodik and Democratic People's Party leader Milan Knežević at his grandfather's renovated house, familiarized his guests with the history of the suffering of the village and said that during the Second World War, Croats knew exactly the order in which they would burn the houses in the village, and that the order was known in the 1990s when those houses were burned again by "some who had returned from Vukovar".

He said that the village is now inhabited mostly by Muslims and that there are almost no Serbs left, but that the Serb tricolour is once again flying over the Vučić family home and in its yard because it was and remains a Serb house.

Vučić said he looked forward to this evening's gathering with all of his neighbours and added that everyone was welcome at the Vučić family home.
