THEY COULD NOT EVEN BEAR TO SEE WHITE ROSES, THEY WERE THROWN INTO TRASH CANS

SARAJEVO, MAY 3 /SRNA/ - White roses left today in Dobrovoljačka Street in Sarajevo by the families of the killed members of the JNA convoy were, shortly after their departure, thrown into trash cans.

Sarajevo authorities could not accept the sight of white roses placed by families and representatives of institutions from Republika Srpska in memory of those killed in an ambush by Muslim paramilitary forces 34 years ago, as the color of the flowers symbolizes innocent victims in a military convoy that was withdrawing, which does not align with their narrative about the aggression.

As soon as the families boarded the buses and headed toward the territory of Republika Srpska, sanitation workers immediately “got to work” and discarded the roses and candles lit for the souls of the victims, so as not to irritate anyone.

Federal media portals also reported that “after the Serbs had left, hard-working sanitation workers cleaned the street and threw the roses and candles into trash cans, and the city returned to normal."

Participants in the procession who paid tribute to the victims through a peaceful walk did not expect the roses to remain until the evening, as even today their presence in the Federation part of Sarajevo had to be secured at every step by a large number of police officers.

The Minister of Labor, War Veterans' and Disabled Persons' Protection of Republika Srpska, Radan Ostojić, said on this occasion that today it was easier to go to Tehran than to Sarajevo to pay respects to the killed JNA members in Dobrovoljačka Street, because the Serbs who arrived had to be secured by a large police presence.

The peaceful procession in Dobrovoljačka Street, where a crime occurred 34 years ago, was led by the Serb member of the Presidency of BiH, Željka Cvijanović, who stated that one should not and must not give up on the truth.
